The second hand uniform shop was set up to offer good quality uniform at very reasonable prices to all parents at the Grammar School. We try to sell everything required by your children, although the stock obviously depends on what has been handed in for sale. It is run voluntarily by the shop manager (a parent) as a service for the School and to raise funds for the Friends of Leicester Grammar School.

The shop is situated on the 1st floor of the caretaker’s house. It takes place every second Monday at lunchtime and pupils are allowed to take home items on approval as long as payment is made the next day or the clothing is returned. The dates are advertised in the FormLink newsletters. A sale especially for new pupils is held at the end of the Summer Term, on a Saturday morning, which is very popular.

Any parent can hand in uniform for sale as long as it is in very good condition. It is then priced up by the manager and when it is sold the parent will receive 75% of the proceeds, with the remainder going to the Friends of Leicester Grammar School. The shop is increasingly popular and provides a valuable service for the parents and pupils of Leicester Grammar School, as well as making a handsome sum for the Friends.
