About The Friends

The Friends of LGS are a small group of parents & teachers who meet on a regular basis to arrange specific fund raising ventures and assist at a variety of school functions. It is hoped that the activities will be enjoyed by parents and children who pass through LGS. At this senior level of children’s education, the Friends feel that it is vital to provide opportunities for parents, children and members of staff to socialise in a more relaxed setting, promoting the obvious benefit of improved relationships all round.

Dances, quiz nights, race nights, a Year 11 Prom, a student’s art exhibition and cultural evenings are the latest events that have been executed successfully, and will undoubtedly be repeated.

Friends of LGS have recently provided money for a new greenhouse for the Biology Dept., a new printer for the Art Dept and school leavers books.The aim of Friends is to welcome all new and established children, parents and members of staff to a variety of functions which it is hoped provide a platform for relaxed enjoyment. Please come along to one of our activities - the members of the committee look forward to meeting you.
