Drama is
taught to all students in Years Seven and Eight, and those in Year Nine
and above can opt to take the subject. We follow the AQA GCSE Drama
course and the AQA Theatre Studies course at AS and A2 Level. It
is not vital for students to have taken Drama at GCSE in order to continue
at A Level, but it is an advantage.
Our expectation, from
students at all levels, is that they will give of their very
best, respect
those they work with, and ensure they conduct themselves in a safe and
sensible manner. Not everyone finds Drama easy, but in all the courses
offered, including A Level, marks are awarded for elements besides performance.
Whilst the ability to act is helpful - particularly for examination courses
- those students who do best in the subject are those who approach it with
enthusiasm and a determination to succeed, and work co-operatively and
sensitively with others.
