INTRODUCTION
The aim of this page is to provide an introduction to the mathematics resources available online for students. Think about what you are looking from the internet before you even start surfing. Three websites which will give you an idea of the kind of online mathematical interactions are the following:
www.mathsnet.net - recognised as one of the best resources for students worldwide;
mathforum.org - browse through the indexed library of online resources;
nrich.maths.org.uk - developed for you by Cambridge University.
A LEVEL
There is an amazing online course for each A level module at www.mathsnet.net. Also investigate the interactive graphs course and the reviews of recommended books. Additional notes are available from www.learn.co.uk and www.bbc.co.uk/education/asguru/. Module specifications can be downloaded from the exam board www.edexcel.org.uk. Ask Mr Murray about the web location of the past paper solutions.
GCSE
Try the online diagnostic test at the Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Education http://www.cimt.plymouth.ac.uk/. From the same site you can print out worksheets on most 11-16 maths topics. Additional notes are available from www.learn.co.uk and www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize. The GCSE specifications are available from the exam board www.edexcel.org.uk.
KEY STAGE 3
